Modifying the Whois / Contact Details of all Domain Names (except .EU and .UK)
Typically, Contacts are of the following types:
Registrant Contact
Administrative Contact
Technical Contact
Billing Contact
In the system, Contacts are independent of a domain name. All contact information that you have used for registering any domain name, is maintained separately in a Contact database. This allows you to re-use the contact information for any other domain name registration without having to fill in all the values again. Think of this as linking Contacts from your Contact database to the domain names you register. Whenever you change any contact information in any Contact, it will automatically change that information in every domain name which uses that contact information.
To Modify Contact Details for a Domain Name
Login to your Control Panel, search for the domain name whose Contact Details you wish to modify and proceed to the Order Details view. 1
NoteIf the domain name is Locked/Suspended, you will have to first Unlock/Unsuspend it before proceeding further.
Additional InformationIf you are unable to Unsuspend your domain name, contact Bolivia Dominios's Support Team at soporte@boliviadominios.com.
Click the Contact Details link to proceed to the Contact Details view.
NoteThe Contact Details view for a domain name will display only the Registrant Contact, if the Administrative, Technical and Billing Contacts for the domain name are the same as the Registrant Contact. If any or all of these Contacts differ from the Registrant Contact, then all such Contacts will also be displayed.
Additional InformationYou now have 2 options of modifying the Contact Details for your domain name:
Use your existing Contact Database:
Click the Use Another Contact link adjacent to the Contact you wish to modify. This will open a page listing all the Contacts that this particular Customer has used in all Domain Registrations with us. Details of a particular Contact can be viewed by clicking the View Details link corresponding to that Contact, which will open the Contact Details view.
Click the Contact Id or Email Address link in order to select the Contact for your domain name. The Contact can also be selected by clicking the Use This Contact button in the Contact Details view.
You can also add a new Contact by clicking the Add New link in the Contacts list page and then submitting the Contact Details. The new Contact will be automatically selected.
NoteThe Add Contact form supports the following, except for the Phone Number, Fax Number and Email Address fields:
Accented characters in case of the below Contact Types:
.EU Contact
Specify Contact Details:
If you wish to modify the details of the existing Contact for the domain name, click the Edit Existing Contact link corresponding to that Contact. Modify the details and click the Submit button to save the changes.
If you change the Name or Company Name, you would be asked, whether you wish to change this particular Contact only or you want to apply this change to all the domain names under this Customer which are using this contact information. If you choose to apply the modifications only to this particular Contact, a new Contact will be created using the submitted details and will be used for the domain name.
If you change any other details, then they would automatically be applied to all the domain names under this Customer which are using this contact information.
NoteThe Modify Contact form supports the following, except for the Phone Number, Fax Number and Email Address fields:
Accented characters in case of the below Contact Types:
.EU Contact
If the Administrative, Technical and Billing Contacts for the domain name are the same as the Registrant Contact, the Contact chosen as the new Registrant Contact will be used as the Administrative, Technical and Billing Contact for the domain name. If you wish to specify a different Contact for any or all of these (Administrative, Technical and Billing) Contacts, click the click here to edit these now link. A different Contact may now be selected or details of the existing Contact modified, in the manner mentioned above.
Example:
If you are using the following Contact Details for only a particular domain name and not anywhere else:
Registrant Contact Details
Company : My Company
Name: My Name
Email Address : myself@mydomain.com
Address1 : My Address
Address2 :
Address3 :
City :My City
State :
Country : United States of America
Zip : 12343
Tel No. (Country Code - Phone Number) : 1 254146246
Fax no. :
Admin Contact Details
Company : My Company
Name : My Name
Email Address : myself@mydomain.com
Address1 : My Address
Address2 :
Address3 :
City :My City
State :
Country : United States of America
Zip : 12343
Tel No. (Country Code - Phone Number) : 1 254146246
Fax no. :
Technical Contact Details
Company : My Company
Name:My Name
Email Address : myself@mydomain.com
Address1 : My Address
Address2 :
Address3 :
City : My City
State :
Country : United States of America
Zip : 12343
Tel No. (Country Code - Phone Number) : 1 254146246
Fax no. :Now, if you change the Name or Company Name or both for a Contact, you would be asked whether you wish to apply the change to that particular Contact or to all the domain names using this Contact.
On the other hand, if you change any other details, then all the Registrant, Admin and Technical Contact would be changed automatically for all domain names under this Customer using this particular Contact.
Apart from the above process, Contacts can be created and managed independent of the domain name(s), directly from within the Customer Control Panel.
Adding and managing Contacts from within the Customer Control Panel
You will encounter the below error message in case the domain name is locked/suspended at the Registry (and not under our system) or an outbound Transfer for the domain name to another Registrar is under process:
AttentionDomain Status does not allow this operation.
In case of,
a lock/suspension at the Registry, contact our Support Team at soporte@boliviadominios.com to know the reason for lock/suspension and how the lock/suspension may be removed.
an outbound Transfer, you may
either cancel the Transfer through link listed in the email sent to the Registrant/Administrative Contact of the domain name and then perform the required modification, or
wait for the Transfer to complete and then carry out the desired modification at the New Registrar.
While modifying the Contact Details for a .US domain name, the system would collect additional Nexus information, if the same is not already associated with the new Registrant Contact. 2
